Brent holds the position of University Counsel and provides legal representation and counsel with respect to all University legal matters. Brent began working at McMaster in 2008 as Legal Counsel to the Industry Liaison Office eventually progressing to the role of Executive Director in 2014. In addition to his role as University Counsel, Brent is also a Director of the McMaster Childrens’ Centre and Adiga Life Sciences Inc.

Brent holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Laws degree from Leeds Metropolitan University.  He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002.  Prior to joining McMaster, Brent practiced law in Hamilton specializing in Corporate-Commercial and Real Estate matters, held a leadership role in the Technology Transfer Office at the University of Bradford and was Legal Counsel at Sun Life Financial Inc. where he practiced in the Group Insurance and Pension Benefits Division.

Sarah is Legal Counsel at McMaster University and provides advice and counsel with respect to all manner of contracts including franchise and service agreements, information technology and privacy as well as copyright and research matters including copyright compliance, enforcement, protection, sponsored research agreements and other research contracts, policy development and related matters.

Sarah holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree from Trinity College and a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from Fordham University.  Sarah was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2013.

Megan is Legal Counsel at McMaster University and provides advice and counsel on labour, employment and related human rights legal matters including employment standards, employment contracts, terminations, grievances, arbitrations, collective agreement interpretation and harassment. She also advises on various academic matters relating to the University.

Megan holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2006. She also has a Certificate in Health Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to joining McMaster University, Megan practiced labour and employment law at a law firm in Mississauga for 10 years. Megan has been a speaker at human resources related conferences and seminars.

Chelsea is Legal Counsel at McMaster University and provides advice and counsel on labour, employment and related human rights legal matters including employment standards, health and safety, harassment, employment contracts, terminations, grievances, arbitrations, and collective agreement interpretation. She also advises on various student, University policy and academic matters relating to the University.

Chelsea holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor where she graduated in the top ten of her class. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2011. Prior to joining McMaster University in 2017, Chelsea worked for a large federally regulated corporation focusing on employment and human rights matters and workplace investigations and practiced employment and labour law at a firm in Guelph.

Shauna is the Law Clerk and Administrator for the Office of Legal Services.  She began working at McMaster University in April 2023 as the Executive Assistant to both the Chief Risk Office, and Office of Legal Services.

She obtained her Law Clerk diploma from Niagara College Canada in 2017.  Prior to joining McMaster, Shauna worked for several years as a Family Law Clerk in Child Protection.
