The Office of Legal Services provides notarial services to students, staff and faculty members at the University. These services are complimentary where the notarial services are for an academic purpose. Unfortunately, the Office of Legal Services is no longer providing notarial services for personal matters. Appointments are to be scheduled in advance by contacting the Office of Legal Services at 905-525-9140 x26725 or olsadmin@mcmaster.ca.
Please note:
- to notarize a signature, the parties who will be signing need to be present and will have to sign in person
- if photocopies are to be certified, please bring the copies along with the originals
- please bring photo ID
Generally, these agreements and contracts may be used by staff and faculty members of McMaster University for university business. Other organizations on campus will have their own forms.

Agreements which bind McMaster University should be signed by an authorized signing officer of the university in accordance with McMaster University’s Execution of Instruments Policy. Please see the Policy at:
